    Over 120 dedicated volunteers joined forces to beautify Kit Carson Park—clearing weeds, painting baseball posts, and adding mulch to the playgrounds. Huge shoutout to our amazing friends from San Pasqual National Honor Society, Emmanuel Faith Community Chur,h and countless neighbors who came together to make a positive impact!

    Over 100 volunteers of all ages worked together to help beautify Downtown Escondido with partners Street Stewards and the City of Escondido.

    We had over 50 volunteers participate in a cleanup on property owned by EUSD and the City of Escondido near Kit Carson Park.

    Over the years the empty lot had gone to seed and become the haunt of disreputable people and drug users. Everybody agreed that it needed to be cleared of trees, bushes, grass and garbage.

    Our community came together to help set our students up for success by donating 284 pairs of shoes and 683 pairs of socks! Also huge shout out to our community partners who generously offered their space as drop off sites including Daydream, Grangettos, Community Lutheran Church, Emmanuel Faith Community Church, Elote, and the Escondido Police Department.

    We gave a city-wide bus tour exposing our neighbors not only to the issues and but the places of hope in our city. We shared about creative ways neighbors are engaging in their neighborhood to spread love and kindness. We hope that all those that attended view Escondido through a new perspective and more inspired to be a part of loving our city!

    40+ amazing friends, families, students, and Escondido neighbors of all ages got together to work side by side while planting olive trees (with names like Olivia, Grace, and Lucy) and shrubs, pulling weeds, and helping to beautify our beloved city!

    Congratulations to the Central Elementary 2022-2023 Student Council for being the first ever recipient of a Love Esco grant! Central School's garden is an area where students can go to relax when they're having a rough day or sit and chat quietly with friends. This year's Student Council members wanted to beautify the garden area with more plants. These easy-care plants will be a great addition to the garden and will remind future students of the 2022-23 student council's contribution to Central School.

    That's right- you donated over 7,000 lbs of food and pantry items to the annual Interfaith Food Drive! Despite the drizzly day, our volunteers picked up, sorted, and loaded the donations that will help Interfaith feed our hungry neighbors!

    On May 22nd, nearly 80 volunteers from Love Esco met at Kit Carson Park to help clean Tree Lake. They raked, bagged, and hauled vegetation and debris and filled a 40 cu ft container! This team worked alongside of the City of Escondido Park Crew to beautify the park. The shore of Tree Lake is now visible and families can enjoy watching wildlife swimming and splashing in the lake.

    We love Escondido teachers! This month, we collected snacks, office supplies, and lots of coffee to show our love and appreciation for teachers and staff at two neighboring schools. Our stealthy Love Teachers Team set up all the snacks in the teacher's lounge after school hours. The next morning, teachers were surprised to find popcorn, chocolate, cans of cold brew coffee, and sweet messages of encouragement.

    A team from The Well worked with the Alabaster Jar Project to provide a beautiful space for their clients. This is a ministry that empowers survivors of human trafficking. The Well laid the groundwork for a future urban garden and also painted and cleaned at the facility.
